What is the Riverbed Interceptor?

The Interceptor® appliance extends the scaling and high-availability capabilities of Steelhead® appliances from Riverbed Technology to meet the requirements of the largest and most complex enterprise networks and data center environments.

The Interceptor appliance clusters up to 25 Steelhead appliances so they can work together seamlessly to scale out to a million TCP connections and up to 12 Gbps of throughput. It simplifies network setup while offering a wide choice of high-availability configurations. With the Interceptor appliance, you can scale your WAN Optimisation solutions to support hundreds of thousands of end users across the enterprise, and scale up to optimise very-high bandwidth network connections in the data center.
